Two suspected members of an international drug-trafficking ring have been arrested for allegedly importing marijuana in the mail from the US, authorities said Tuesday.
Police said the two Greek men were taken into custody Monday when they went to pick up the drugs from a parcel delivery service in the northern port city. The marijuana had already been detected when it entered Greece, and officers only needed to see who would appear to claim the parcel – which contained just over a kilogram of the drug.
Police said one of the suspects had prior arrests for drugs.
