A 47-year-old man on the island of Rhodes is expected to appear before a prosecutor on Tuesday after he was arrested for beating his estranged wife.

He then pulled the victim out of the car, punched her again in the face and insulted her. He removed a pair of sunglasses from the car as well as her partner’s wallet, which contained approximately €900, his police ID card, his driver’s license and a bank card.

The 47-year-old got into the vehicle and left. Inside the car, was the woman’s dog, her mobile phone, her wallet with her ID card, driver’s license, a debit card and approximately €500.

In her statement to the police, the woman stated that her estranged husband has been following her, which causes her fear and concern, and described a past incident of surveillance at her home about a week earlier. She also claimed that the 47-year-old has installed a geolocation system in the vehicle, which she herself has not been able to find.
