The recent opening of the R10.2 million Princess Vlei trail, which promises to enhance recreational opportunities and promote local biodiversity, has been overshadowed by vandalism that occurred less than a month following its launch.
The City of Cape Town has now appealed for residents to come forward with information, while concerned ratepayers call for improved security measures.
The City said a group of suspects removed the wooden slats from one of the footbridges, which stretch along the 4.23 km circulatory trail.
They suspect the vandalism and theft took place on June 30.
