Earlier this year, a man was also arrested for robbery following a joint operation on Table Mountain on April 1.
A 61-year-old runner was stabbed during an apparent attempted robbery on Table Mountain , on Thursday July 9, prompting renewed warnings about safety on one of Cape Town's most popular outdoor recreation areas.
The attack occurred between 7:15am and 7:30am in the Deadman's Tree area above Deer Park, near Tafelberg Road.
According to Provincial police spokesperson Captain Frederich van Wyk, the victim told police he was approached by three unidentified men while out on his morning run.
Van Wyk said Cape Town Central Police registered an assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm case.
