Wilderness Search and Rescue (WSAR) teams responded swiftly to two separate incidents involving lost hikers on Table Mountain.
Volunteer teams were activated to assist two international visitors lost near Echo Valley on Table Mountain, and later two American hikers who had been delayed near Maclear’s Beacon on Tuesday evening, July 22.
WSAR spokesman David Nel said both parties made the prudent decision to contact the WSAR emergency number before their situations deteriorated.
"Accidents happen on even the most familiar trails," he said.
