Calls for enhanced security on Table Mountain intensify after two stabbings in less than a week.
Emergency services have confirmed a second stabbing incident on Table Mountain in less than a week, this as calls by political parties and hiking groups for more visibility and cameras and 24-hour surveillance.
Western Cape Department of Health and Wellness Emergency Medical Services (EMS) who responded to the scene said: "We can confirm that the Western Cape Department of Health and Wellness Emergency Medical Services (EMS) personnel responded to a stabbing incident on Table Mountain on 13 July. One person was assessed at the scene and transported to a healthcare facility for further medical care and treatment. "Due to patient confidentiality, we cannot share further information."
The South African National Parks (SANParks) said they had become aware of incidents in the Deer Park region.
The Cape Argus understands that a 52-year-old man had been approached by two unknown men and attacked on Monday in Deer Park.
