They alleged that employees were subjected to poor welfare conditions, persistent underpayment, irregular salary payments, disrespect in the workplace and an unhealthy working environment.
Four nurses invited by the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) in Alagbon, Lagos, over a dispute involving Abby’s Paediatric Care have accused the hospital of poor staff welfare, delayed salaries, underpayment and interference with patient care, even as they commended police officers for conducting the investigation professionally.
The development was disclosed in a statement issued on Tuesday by the Elegant Nurses Forum, which said the nurses honoured the police invitation with legal representation provided by the Take-It-Back Movement.
According to the group, the matter could not proceed because representatives of Abby’s Paediatric Care and the hospital’s legal counsel failed to appear before investigators at the FCID headquarters in Alagbon.
The police subsequently directed all parties to return next Tuesday for the continuation of the investigation.
