The Elegant Nurses Forum (ENF) has accused the Nigeria Police Force of being used to intimidate healthcare workers after a former employee of Abby's Paediatric Care in Lagos was invited by the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID), Alagbon Annex, over comments allegedly made about the hospital's workplace conditions.
The allegation is contained in a statement issued by the National Coordinator of the forum, Nurse Thomas Abiodun Olamide, who described the development as part of what he called a growing pattern of harassment against nurses and other healthcare professionals who speak publicly about their workplace experiences.
Documents seen by SaharaReporters include an FCID invitation letter dated June 26, 2026, addressed to one Adedoyin Ajani.
The letter, signed on behalf of the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, FCID Annex, Ikoyi, invited Ajani to report to the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit at Alagbon Close on June 30, 2026.
According to the invitation, the police are investigating allegations of "Criminal Conspiracy, Cyber Stalking/Bullying, Defamation of Character, Threat to Life and Conduct Likely to Cause Breach of Peace."
