A 42-year-old man was killed and another driver injured in a head-on collision near Greece’s second-largest city of Thessaloniki on Saturday evening.

The crash occurred around 6:45 p.m. on the provincial road linking Halastra and Sindos, west of Thessaloniki, under circumstances that remain under investigation.

The 42-year-old driver of one vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene, while the 41-year-old driver of the second car was injured and taken to Papanikolaou Hospital in Thessaloniki for treatment.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
