The Security Service of Ukraine, in cooperation with soldiers from the Third Army Corps of the Armed Forces, detained a suspected spotter who was directing Russian army strikes against Ukrainian units defending Lyman in the Donetsk region.

According to Ukrinform, the SSU reported this.

According to the investigation, the suspect coordinated nearly the entire Russian arsenal of short- and medium-range tactical weapons toward the positions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, including super-heavy guided aerial bombs, strike drones, barrel and rocket artillery, and Solntsepyok-type flamethrower systems.

It has been established that, through combined attacks, Russian assault groups hoped to break through toward a frontline city to subsequently capture it.

“The Security Service uncovered the enemy’s plan in advance, documented the agent’s espionage activities, and took measures to secure the locations of the Defense Forces within the aggressor’s reconnaissance range,” the agency reported.
