According to the SBU, a Russian soldier with the call sign “Shaman,” from Russia’s 31st Motor Rifle Regiment, infiltrated the area to scout Ukrainian positions. He later linked up with a local woman, who allegedly sheltered him and helped gather intelligence on Ukrainian troop movements. During the detention attempt, the Russian serviceman opened fire on Ukrainian forces and was killed on the spot, the SBU said. Investigators say the woman moved through the area under the guise of daily life, identifying Ukrainian positions and passing coordinates to her Russian contact, who relayed them to his unit. The suspect has been charged with high treason under martial law and is in custody. She faces life imprisonment if convicted. The SBU said the operation was conducted in coordination with Ukrainian forces and regional prosecutors.
