The counterintelligence unit of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has detained an individual accused of helping direct Russian air strikes against the city of Zaporizhzhia.
According to Ukrinform, the SBU announced the arrest in a statement.
The suspect is a locally mobilized serviceman who deserted his military unit and later began cooperating with Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB).
According to the case materials, the deserter came to the attention of Russian intelligence after he fled his unit and began posting pro-Kremlin comments in Telegram channel chats.
Investigators established that an FSB officer contacted him via a messaging app and offered him cooperation.
