The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has detained an agent of Russia’s military intelligence who was guiding Russian air strikes on Kyiv and the Donetsk region.
According to Ukrinform, the SBU reported this.
The suspect is a security guard at one of Kyiv’s universities, the agency notes.
Investigators established that he was recruited through his sister, who lives in Russia. Through her, he transmitted coordinates of designated targets to Russia’s Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
The SBU said the man monitored the aftermath of Russian attacks in Kyiv in order to help adjust follow-up strikes. Priority targets included thermal power plants and other critical energy infrastructure in the capital.
