MANILA, Philippines — A Parañaque City high school teacher has been charged with acts of lasciviousness and violation of anti-child abuse law for allegedly abusing a student, the Southern Police District (SPD) said on Thursday.
In a statement, the SPD noted that the charges stemmed from reports received on their public complaint hotlines and social media posts, which prompted the Parañaque City Police Station (CPS) Women and Children Protection Desk to launch an investigation.
“Parañaque CPS personnel successfully coordinated with the victim’s family and conducted a dialogue with school administrators and Department of Education legal officials to verify the matter and ensure proper protocols were followed,” the police explained.
