A 49-year-old high school teacher is expected to appear before a prosecutor on Thursday after he was arrested in Patra, western Greece, for sexually abusing a student for three years.
The arrest came following a complaint filed by an 18-year-old woman who told police that she had a relationship with her teacher from the age of 14 to 17, during which time the suspect had encouraged her to send him nude photos and videos of herself. The man also gave her private lessons at her home.
The police found evidence on the 49-year-old’s mobile phone, according to state-run broadcaster ERT.
According to the same news report, the suspect allegedly admitted to the relationship claiming he was in love with the student.
The professor is being held at the Patra Police Headquarters and is expected to be charged at noon.
