Greece has formally joined the American Pax Silica initiative, in a development of strategic importance and high symbolism that sets new standards in the defense architecture of the Eastern Mediterranean.

The signing of the declaration in Washington by the Greek ambassador to the US, Antonis Alexandridis; and US Under Secretary of State for Economic Development Jacob Helberg, is an important step in the diplomatic field for the radical revision of the Western strategy.

Expanding on the traditional notion of national security, Washington now treats AI technologies and infrastructure – from data centers and semiconductors to critical minerals and computing power – as factors of strategic power, on par with defense and energy.

The Pax Silica initiative is the key tool with which the US is attempting to build a strong, shielded network of countries that will work closely together in these sensitive areas.

This is essentially a new form of strategic cooperation, which many in Washington openly describe as a kind of “technology NATO.”
