The Junior Springboks will head to the World Rugby U20 Championship in Georgia under new leadership after regular captain Riley Norton was drafted into the senior Springbok squad for the upcoming Nations Championship.

Junior Bok coach Kevin Foote confirmed that hooker Siphosethu Mnebelele will captain the side for the global tournament, which runs from June 27 to July 18, as South Africa prepares to defend its world title.

Norton’s elevation to the senior national setup follows an impressive performance in Saturday’s non-cap international against the Barbarians in Gqeberha. The lock joins Rassie Erasmus’ squad alongside flyhalf Vusi Moyo.

These senior call-ups forced a late reshuffle just before the squad's departure for Georgia. Utility forward Thomas Beling replaces Norton, while wing Cheswill Jooste comes in for Moyo.
