District Six electricity billing error is being investigated and discussed.

The Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) has refuted allegations regarding outstanding electricity bills associated with a parcel of land now occupied by 100 District Six claimants.

The university said the issue is related to an administrative error after the land was transferred to the Department of Land Reform and Rural Development (DLRRD).

This comes after GOOD Party secretary-general Brett Herron claimed that residents were footing CPUT’s bill.

His statement followed Mzwanele Nyhontso, the Minister of Land Reform and Rural Development’s address to claimants at the Castle of Good Hope on Youth Day.
