A 25-year-old man in Thessaloniki was allegedly forced to transfer €20,000 through a banking app after being threatened by two brothers, aged 20 and 16, and several accomplices, according to reports.
The victim told MEGA TV that the 20-year-old suspect was his sister’s boyfriend and that the incident began under the pretext of a friendly outing.
He said he was picked up by a group of five individuals, taken in a car, tied up and threatened with a gun and a saw. Fearing for his life, he provided access to his banking app, after which the suspects carried out the transfer themselves, he said.
According to the victim, he was later driven home and warned not to contact authorities. He said the group threatened to kill him if he reported the incident or if they were imprisoned and later released.
