Thessaloniki police have arrested two brothers accused of participating in an armed abduction and robbery of a 25-year-old man, forcing him to transfer €20,000 under threat.

According to police, on Wednesday the suspects – aged 20 and 16 – together with three teenage accomplices, allegedly forced the victim into a car, immobilized him, and threatened him with a pistol and a cutting tool before compelling him to complete a bank transfer.

The group then reportedly drove the victim to an ATM and ordered him to withdraw additional cash, which he was unable to do. He was later released outside his home, where he was allegedly threatened with death if he reported the incident.

It is understood that the victim was acquainted with the older suspect.
