In a statement issued on Wednesday and signed by its Bauchi State Coordinator, Nazif Bashi, TIB expressed concern over the court's decision to revoke Sowore’s bail and order his arrest despite evidence that the activist had formally communicated with the court regarding the circumstances surrounding his appearance.

The Take-It-Back Movement (TIB), Bauchi State Chapter, has strongly condemned the revocation of the bail granted to human rights activist and presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, describing the development as a dangerous assault on constitutional democracy and a troubling sign of political persecution.

According to the group, the matter extends beyond Sowore as an individual and raises broader concerns about the independence of institutions responsible for administering justice in Nigeria.

“The Take-It-Back Movement, Bauchi State Chapter, expresses profound concern and unequivocally condemns the revocation of the bail granted to Omoyele Sowore and the subsequent order for his arrest despite evidence that he formally communicated with the court regarding the circumstances surrounding his appearance,” Bashi stated.
