The movement alleged that critics of government policies have increasingly come under pressure, insisting that Sowore’s situation reflects a disturbing national trend.

The Take-It-Back Movement has condemned the revocation of bail granted to human rights activist and African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, describing the development as part of what it called a growing pattern of political persecution and intimidation of opposition figures in Nigeria.

In a statement issued on Tuesday and signed by its National Coordinator, Juwon Sanyaolu, the group said the action should not be viewed in isolation, but as part of a wider effort to suppress dissent and weaken democratic resistance.

“We strongly condemn the revocation of the bail granted to Omoyele Sowore, human rights activist and presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC),” the statement said. “We view this latest action not as an isolated judicial event but as part of a broader pattern of state-backed efforts to silence dissent, criminalize opposition politics, and weaken democratic resistance.”
