The crisis facing Hellenic Post (ELTA) seems to remain without a visible way out.
The size of the problems that continue to plague the organization is seen in an internal e-mail sent on June 11, by the human resources department to executives and administrative employees, inviting them to “share the burden” voluntarily for a day, taking on the duties of courier distributors.
The aim of the initiative is to relieve the large volume of parcels and items that have accumulated in specific areas of Athens, such as Agios Dimitrios, which are unable to respond to deliveries on time.
According to the e-mail message Kathimerini has seen, the specific district is going through a particularly difficult period, as a result of which delays in courier deliveries negatively affect the image of ELTA.
So management has asked officials to voluntarily participate in delivering items, without additional payment and using if available, their private vehicles. Those who do not have a car will participate as co-drivers, creating teams of two people to handle the deliveries.
