A 44-year-old resident of Malekshahr, Isfahan, and father of two daughters was fatally shot with live ammunition on Friday, January 9.
Sources close to the matter reported that the live round struck Navid Alam-Chehreh from behind, hitting him in the side. According to his family, Alam-Chehreh was still conscious after being wounded and was rushed by family members to Isfahan’s Gharazi Hospital. Upon admitting him, the medical staff said he would be taken immediately to the operating room for surgery.
His relatives said they waited outside the hospital until morning. However, when the hospital doors opened, and they went inside to check on his condition, they found no trace of him. Following a desperate two-day search across various state facilities, the family finally located his body in the morgue of Bagh-e Rezvan Cemetery in Isfahan.
Following the ordeal, Navid Alam-Chehreh’s body was handed over to his family, transferred to Shahinshahr Cemetery, and buried there. Sources close to the family claimed that authorities demanded a payment of 500 million tomans, approximately $10,000 to $12,000 depending on the open-market rate, before releasing the body.
Navid Alam-Chehreh was married and the father of two young daughters. Loved ones remember him as a kind, family-oriented, and responsible man who dedicated much of his life to his family. He worked for many years as a barber, though in recent years he had taken up driving for internet ride-hailing services to make ends meet.
