According to information received by IranWire, Saeed Sadeghi-Afjeh was killed on January 9, 2026, at around 9:30 PM near Tehranpars in Tehran, on the corner of 208th Street, after being shot in the back of the head with live ammunition.

According to close sources, Saeed Sadeghi-Afjeh was targeted with a direct shot of live ammunition to the back of his head after he had rushed to assist a young man who had been shot in the leg. According to this account, bystanders transported him to the hospital at the 3rd Square of Tehranpars. However, his body was transferred from the hospital to the Kahrizak medical examiner's office the following morning. When the family went to Kahrizak to claim the body, they reported that the bodies of the deceased were being placed in containers and transferred to Behesht-e Zahra Cemetery.

According to relatives, the family went to Behesht-e Zahra the next day, but Saeed Sadeghi-Afjeh's body was not there. It had been moved to the regional Crisis Management center. The family spent two full days, from morning until evening, searching for his body at Behesht-e Zahra and ultimately succeeded in obtaining a burial permit with great difficulty.

The body of Saeed Sadeghi-Afjeh was laid to rest on January 13 in the village of Kond-e Olya in Lavasan. Saeed Sadeghi-Afjeh was single, worked in the framing business, and had one sister. His parents had passed away about ten years earlier.
