According to information obtained by IranWire, 34-year-old Arash Mousazadeh was killed on Thursday, January 8, after being targeted by direct live fire near Nankali Alley on Nabard Street in Tehran.

Informed sources state that a live round struck him from behind, entering his lower back and piercing through toward his heart. Sources note that a Basij paramilitary base is located near the site of the shooting.

According to this account, following the shooting, Arash's body was rushed to the Mardom (Bahadori) Hospital. However, sources familiar with the incident state that Arash had already passed away before reaching the hospital.

On the morning of Friday, January 9, Arash's family and relatives identified his body at the hospital morgue. They were subsequently informed that they had to go to the Kahrizak facility on January 10 to receive his body.

Those close to Arash say they were confronted with a deeply painful and agonizing scene at Kahrizak. The bodies had been transported by trucks and laid out on the ground, and Arash’s relatives were told to personally open the body bags one by one to find their son. After hours of searching, the family managed to identify Arash's body, but officials refused to release it to them that day.
