Fikile Ndayi will be one of more than 400 runners who will be hoping to achieve their green colours in this Sunday's Comrades Marathon.

Two Phoenix runners are chasing special milestones at the Comrades Marathon this Sunday. Selvan Pillay, 58, is aiming for his 25th finish. Fikile Ndayi, 46, is aiming for his 10th – which comes with a permanent Green Number.

Selvan Pillay, 58, of the East Coast Hawks Athletic Club, will be attempting his 25th Comrades

“Reaching that milestone means a great deal, not only because of the number itself, but also because it reflects years of discipline, consistency and commitment to the sport,” Pillay said.

He has successfully completed 24 of the 25 races he has entered, earning 16 bronze medals and eight copper medals. His first Comrades in 1998 was completed in 10 hours and 52 minutes.
