South African runners George Kusche and Gerda Steyn stormed to victory in the respective Comrades Marathon men’s and women’s races on Sunday.
Kusche won the men’s UP Run - from Durban to Pietermaritzburg - in a record time of 05:15:56.
Steyn cruised victory in the women’s race in 05:44:53. She broke her own record in the Up Run of 5:49:46 which was set in 2024.
