According to the AAC, the planned protest is aimed at demanding urgent action from government authorities over the country's deteriorating security situation, deepening economic crisis and alleged attacks on citizens' democratic rights.
The African Action Congress (AAC) has directed its members, candidates, aspirants and party structures across the country to participate in the nationwide protest scheduled for June 12, 2026, against worsening insecurity, hunger, economic hardship and what organisers describe as bad governance under the current administration.
The directive was contained in a circular issued by the party's National Secretariat and signed by the National Secretary, Comrade Oshiokhue Philip Ikpeminoghena.
The circular, addressed to state chairpersons, state executive committees, local government executives, ward leaders, candidates, aspirants and members of the party nationwide, stated that the decision followed a resolution adopted during the General Assembly of the Take-It-Back Movement.
