The Oyo State chapter of the African Action Congress (AAC) has called for a mass protest against worsening insecurity in the state following the abduction of school pupils and the gruesome killing of a school principal by suspected terrorists.
The party accused Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration and security agencies of failing to protect ordinary citizens, particularly vulnerable residents in rural communities.
In a statement signed by the AAC Oyo State Chairman, Kayode Babayomi David, the party said residents could no longer remain silent while innocent children were kidnapped and communities lived in fear.
“It is time for us to wake up; it is time for us to rise. We cannot continue to fold our arms while innocent children are abducted and the people live in fear. Enough is enough,” the statement read.
