According to the AAC, the governor disclosed during the visit that Oyo State had recently lost at least 200 members of the Amotekun Corps but failed to provide details of the circumstances surrounding their deaths.

The African Action Congress (AAC) in Oyo State has challenged Governor Seyi Makinde to provide a full account of the reported deaths of no fewer than 200 personnel of the state-owned Amotekun Corps, describing the situation as both "sad and shameful."

The opposition party also called on the governor to either properly equip and train the security outfit or dissolve it altogether, arguing that the corps has failed to fulfil its core mandate of protecting lives and property across the state.

The demand was contained in a statement issued on Thursday by the Oyo State Chairman of the AAC, Kayode Babayomi, following Governor Makinde's recent visit to Orire Local Government Area, where teachers and pupils were abducted by suspected kidnappers.
