According to him, the alleged diversion of public resources had occurred amid increased allocations accruing to state governments from the Nigerian government.
The Chairman of the African Action Congress (AAC) in Oyo State, Kayode Babayomi, has accused Governor Seyi Makinde of allegedly using state resources to advance his political ambitions ahead of the 2027 elections.
Babayomi, in a statement on Tuesday, alleged that Makinde had engaged in what he described as “frivolous spending” of public funds on political activities and structures allegedly connected to his presidential ambition.
He called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) to investigate the governor’s administration’s spending and hold anyone found culpable accountable.
