The Oyo State chapter of the African Action Congress (AAC) has given Governor Seyi Makinde a seven-day ultimatum to produce the surveillance aircraft his administration promised to deploy for security operations or resign from office.

The party accused the governor of misleading residents over the acquisition of the aircraft, alleging that repeated assurances by the state government had not translated into its delivery.

In a statement signed by the Oyo State AAC Chairman, Kayode Babayomi, the party said residents had begun to doubt whether the surveillance jet was ever purchased.

According to the statement, Makinde had, for several months, maintained that the surveillance aircraft was stationed at the Nigerian Air Force Base in Lagos, awaiting deployment to Oyo State.
