The African Action Congress (AAC) has commenced its party primaries in Abuja ahead of the 2027 general elections, with party members and delegates gathering in the Federal Capital Territory to participate in the exercise.

The programme, which is currently being held today Tuesday, May 26, 2026, in Abuja, attracted several notable personalities within the party, including human rights activist and the party’s 2023 presidential flag bearer, Omoyele Sowore.

Sowore’s arrival at the venue was greeted with loud cheers from party delegates and supporters, many of whom praised his leadership qualities and long-standing activism on issues relating to governance, accountability and social justice in Nigeria.
