Two people, including a Class 12 student, were killed in an accident on Friday (June 5). J. Vijay (18), a resident of Narasingapuram near Attur, was walking down the Salem-Chennai National Highway at Selliyampalayam on Thursday evening when a motorcycle, ridden by Ranjith Kumar (42) from Mecheri Kalipatti, hit him. Ranjith was heading to Kattukottai. The duo sustained grievous injuries and were admitted to the government hospital in Salem. On Friday morning, the duo succumbed to their injuries.
