MANILA, Philippines — “How can an alleged hearing be credible when the essential ingredients of fairness and impartiality are obviously lacking?”

Former Surigao del Norte Rep. Robert Ace Barbers made this remark in response to the recent Senate blue ribbon committee hearing, wherein, he said, certain names were publicly mentioned by Sen. Rodante Marcoleta in a manner intended to damage their reputations, while other names were conspicuously omitted.

“Either the list given to him had been sanitized, or he deliberately chose not to mention certain individuals because they are now in the same political camp as his group,” Barbers said.
