MANILA, Philippines — Former Senate President Franklin Drilon on Thursday said that as the new Senate majority bloc ignored the Senate blue ribbon committee hearing into the flood control scam pushed by the allies of Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano, it’s as if the probe did not happen at all.

Cayetano’s camp pushed with the investigation originally scheduled on Thursday, despite the new majority bloc’s decision to postpone it after the Senate leadership change on Wednesday. Sen. Erwin Tulfo, the new chairperson of the blue ribbon panel, said that the committee will resume its inquiry into the flood control scandal on June 8, Monday.

Drilon recalled a “rump session” that occurred during his time as a Senate President, noting that they questioned its validity and instructed to have it stricken off Senate records.
