MANILA, Philippines — At least two members of the House of Representatives’ prosecution team have questioned the inaccuracies surrounding the testimony of the alleged 18 former Marine officers, particularly on claims that they received money from former Ako Bicol party-list Rep. Elizaldy Co.
In separate interviews on Thursday, Manila Rep. Joel Chua and Bicol Saro party-list Rep. Terry Ridon pointed out several inconsistencies in the rehashed claims made before the Senate blue ribbon committee hearing earlier.
One example, Chua said, are the changes in the area where he was supposedly given money, as the affidavit from February 2026 stated that the money was given to him inside the House premises at the Batasang Pambansa complex, while the former Marines claimed earlier that it was given in a so-called ‘townhouse.’
“First of all I sternly deny their lies, it is already obvious that they are lying because in the first affidavit that they submitted, according to them, I was given a suitcase inside the HOR (House of Representatives,” Chua explained in a phone interview with reporters.
