MANILA, Philippines — The invitation to the 18 alleged ex-Marines, along with their legal counsel, Atty. Levito Baligod, to appear before the Senate blue ribbon committee has supposedly been withdrawn.
Baligod shared in a social media post on Tuesday a screenshot of an email from the Blue Ribbon Oversight Office that was sent to him and a supposed former Marine, Bernard Tube.
“Dear Atty. Baligod and Mr. Tube, et al.: This refers to the invitations previously issued to you and your clients, the eighteen (18) Marine personnel… Please be informed that, upon the directive of Chairperson Senator Pia S. Cayetano, the said invitations are hereby withdrawn,” the e-mail sent Monday evening read.
