A bill collector and a conservancy worker of the Namakkal Corporation was placed under suspension here on Thursday (June 4, 2026).According to the police, Bhupathi, a resident of Siluvampatti, constructed a new house and had approached the Namakkal Corporation to determine the tax for the house.The bill collector, Udhayakumar (42), demanded ₹15,000 as bribe for the work. Unwilling to give a bribe, Bhupathi approached Namakkal DVAC officials, and based on their direction, he gave the bribe amount to Udhayakumar through conservancy worker Kala (52) on Tuesday (June 2, 2026).At that time, the DVAC officials caught them red-handed.
