A Directorate of Vigilance and Anti Corruption (DVAC) team on Thursday arrested a Revenue Assistant working in the Tiruchi Corporation’s Ward Committee office - 4, Ponmalai zone here on bribery charge.The Revenue Assistant — O. Rammoorthy, 33, had allegedly demanded ₹5,000 as bribe from S. Sakthiganapathi of Tiruchi to process and arrange the name transfer relating to property tax, water tax, and underground drainage charges for his newly purchased flat.Unwilling to pay the bribe, Sakthiganapathi lodged a complaint with the DVAC, Tiruchi unit, based on which a case was registered.
