The Oyo State chapter of the Take It Back (TIB) Movement has condemned the violent attack and assault on anti-kidnapping peaceful protesters in Ibadan, Oyo State capital, reportedly led by Victor Olojede, a Special Adviser on Students’ Affairs to Governor Seyi Makinde, and the President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Akinteye Babatunde, popularly known as Babtee.

SaharaReporters earlier reported that a group of suspected thugs, reportedly led by Babatunde and Olojede, on Tuesday violently disrupted the peaceful protest organised to demand the rescue of abducted pupils, teachers, and a school principal in the state.

The demonstration, held under the banner #BringBackOurPupilsAndTeachers, was organised by the TIB to draw attention to the abductions and press for urgent government intervention.

The protesters said the march, which began peacefully, was organised in response to recent kidnappings in Oriire Local Government Area and other parts of Oyo State before it was allegedly disrupted by armed individuals linked to NANS and the state government.
