A group of suspected thugs reportedly led by the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) President, Akinteye Babatunde Babtee, and Victor Olojede, Senior Special Assistant to Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde on Students’ Affairs, on Tuesday violently disrupted a peaceful protest in Ibadan.

The protest was organised to demand the rescue of abducted pupils, teachers, and a school principal in Oyo State.

The demonstration, held under the banner #BringBackOurPupilsAndTeachers, was organised by the Take It Back Movement to draw attention to the abductions and press for urgent government intervention.

A SaharaReporters correspondent on the ground observed that the protesters had marched from Mokola towards the Bodija area when they were intercepted at Sango, Ibadan, on Tuesday afternoon.
