The Elegant Nurses Forum (ENF), a nursing advocacy group, has expressed concerns over widespread irregularities, unsafe medical practices, manpower shortages, and alleged threats against healthcare workers at the Primary Health Care Centre (PHC), Oke-Adu, Ibadan, prompting separate petitions to Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde and the Inspector General of Police, Olatunji Disu.

In an open letter addressed to Governor Makinde and signed by its National Coordinator, Nurse Thomas Abiodun Olamide, the group stated that deteriorating conditions across Primary Health Care Centres in Oyo State, particularly at PHC Oke-Adu, have exposed patients to avoidable risks, injuries, infections, and possible deaths.

The forum said the healthcare system at the grassroots level was facing severe challenges due to negligence, shortage of qualified personnel, lack of essential medical equipment, and the increasing use of unqualified individuals in handling sensitive healthcare responsibilities.

"We write this open letter with deep concern over the deteriorating condition of Primary Health Care Centres (PHCs) across Oyo State, especially the dangerous situation at the Primary Health Care Centre, Oke-Adu," the letter stated.
