Last Friday, the Fair Work Commission (FWC) general manager revealed that the total number of claims in the FWC for 2025-26 had, by April, already matched last year’s record high of 44,000.The FWC president recently noted the huge surge in unfair dismissal claims (a 26 per cent increase) and a larger surge in unlawful dismissal applications (a 75 per cent rise) – all within 12 months.
