A House of Representatives aspirant under the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for Uzo-Uwani/Igbo-Etiti Federal Constituency, Ezeaku Ejiofor Mathias, has petitioned the party’s national leadership over alleged irregularities that trailed the party’s primary election held on May 29, 2026.

In a formal complaint dated May 30, 2026, and addressed to the National Chairman of the NDC, Mathias alleged that he was the rightful winner of the exercise and called for the ratification of his candidacy.

“I, Mazi Ezeaku Ejiofor Mathias, a duly accredited aspirant in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) House of Representatives Primary Election for Uzo-Uwani/Igbo-Etiti Federal Constituency conducted on 29th May, 2026, write to formally register my strongest protest against the unfortunate events that occurred following the successful conclusion of the primary election,” he wrote.
