Akubueze alleged that while the primary election in Awka North was transparent and conducted in line with the Option A4 voting system, the exercise in Awka South was marred by irregularities that undermined its credibility.

House of Representatives aspirant for Awka North and South Federal Constituency, Engineer Chukwuebuka Akubueze, has raised concerns over the conduct of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) primary election, alleging irregularities and insisting that the outcome did not reflect the wishes of party member.

In a statement made available to journalists in Awka, Anambra State, Akubueze alleged that while the primary election in Awka North was transparent and conducted in line with the Option A4 voting system, the exercise in Awka South was marred by irregularities that undermined its credibility.

He said the Awka North primary was peaceful and well-attended by party members and observers, with voters openly lining up behind their preferred candidates in accordance with the Option A4 system.

Akubueze also claimed that video recordings from the exercise, which have since circulated on social media, showed a large number of supporters queuing behind him during the voting process.
