A House of Representatives aspirant in the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Hon. Onus Igwe Nwankwo, has alleged suppression of primary election results in the party’s Ohanivo Federal Constituency exercise, raising concerns over what he described as attempts to subvert the will of delegates.

In a statement dated June 9, 2026, Nwankwo, who is contesting for the Ohanivo Federal Constituency seat, said the primary election held on May 29, 2026, across Ohaozara, Onicha, and Ivo local government areas was conducted despite disruptions.

He stated: “I wish to state clearly that the primary election did take place across the three Local Government Areas that make up the OHANIVO Federal Constituency—Ohaozara, Onicha, and Ivo.”

According to him, he participated in the process alongside his supporters and delegates, insisting that voting was duly conducted and results generated.
