TOKYO, Japan—President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Friday said he “watched with horror” the events that had rocked the Senate over the past three weeks, including the May 13 shooting incident, which he described as “fake.”
He also noted how “the discourse had gone shallow” in the chamber, with the differences in views becoming “personal,” if compared to the time when he was a senator himself.
In an interview with Filipino journalists here, Mr. Marcos spoke publicly for the first time, and with a rare show of candor, about the recent developments in the Senate as he wrapped up his four-day state visit to Japan.
