MANILA, Philippines — Senate President Alan Peter Cayetano believes that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. may have been given a false information on the May 13 shooting in the Senate.
Speaking on a livestream on Saturday, Cayetano said he had been advocating an independent probe for weeks because he believed the president was not receiving the full picture.
“I do believe the president is being given wrong information,” he said during his Facebook Live.
Cayetano made the remark a day after Marcos, during a visit to Japan, described the shooting as “fake” and lamented what he said was the decline of the institutional standards in the Senate.
